The waters surrounding the Aldermen Islands can, at times, produce world class Marlin fishing. As the East Auckland current pushes down from the North, riding in its warm tropical blue water, Striped and Blue Marlin come to this area in good numbers. Striped Marlin are our most common billfish reaching 80 to 100kg on average, with our Blue Marlin averaging around 200kg.
We employ both trolling lures and live baiting techniques, with lures early in the season and live baiting later in the season, generally speaking. If catching Mako Sharks is your thing, we have good numbers of these hard fighting sportfish on offer too.

We specialise different fishing techniques depending what your target fish species is, popular techniques such as softbaiting, jigging, slow jigging and bait fishing works for all species around Alderman Islands and the surroundings.

The area provides a variety of different locations to spearfish with shallow reef, weed lines, and deep pinnacles to explore. Whether it's snooping Snapper up in the shallows, hunting Boarfish on the weedlines or swimming with schools of Kingies on a deep rock, we can cater for all skill levels and experience.
